What is SAPMA?
SAPMA stands for San Antonio Personnel Management Association. Since it was founded in 1974, SAPMA has helped shape human resource management within the greater
San Antonio federal community. It works closely with the Alamo Federal Executive Board on issues of mutual interest. Every two years, SAPMA sponsors an Elementary School in need. For fiscal year 2007-2009, SAPMA seeks community involvement through support of the

What are SAPMA’s objectives?
The objectives, as stated in the Bylaws, are to
1. Enhance the personnel professionalism of all members of the
San Antonio area federal community by providing a forum for sharing
information, training opportunities, and networking with human resource professionals.
2. Examine personnel and general management problems and action requirements common to member agencies.
3. Provide opportunities for members to gain further expertise through research and study projects with staff members from other agencies.

When are the meetings?
Generally, meetings are held bi-monthly in February, April, June, August, October and December on the third Wednesday of the month. Due to the various locations, programs are usually scheduled at
11:30 at the Ft Sam Houston Consolidate Club or Randolph Enlisted Club where lunch is $11.00 for members and $13.00 for nonmembers. You must pay your organization’s SAPMA representative in advance to confirm your reservation.
What kind of programs does SAPMA have?
When you arrive at a meeting, you will pick up your nametag and spend a little time talking with others prior to the buffet lunch and program. This is the time to walk up to someone you don’t know, introduce yourself, and perhaps dine with them. We’ve recently incorporated ice breakers at the beginning of our luncheon meetings to further enhance our networking efforts. There may be a couple of business announcements, followed by the guest speaker. There will also be an opportunity to win gift baskets. The program Vice-President works diligently to offer a variety of speakers and a variety of topics of interest to our membership. Other special activities include our annual presentation of two scholarships and the SAPMA All-Star Awards, as well as our December program at which we honor our
